Sessions Explained
Somatic Trauma Therapy
Somatic therapy is a body-focused approach to healing from trauma and more. It is based on new breakthrough trauma research that proves Trauma is stored in the body not the mind. Throughout life, difficult experiences or traumatic events can get “stored” in our bodies for survival reasons, leading to tension, pain or emotional distress.
In this therapy, we’ll explore your body sensations and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. STT aims to close the cycle of the stress response related to traumatic experiences and lets your body know they are in the past. Sessions range widely from person to person but can include slow somatic movement exercises, working with objects, naming feelings and more.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release therapy is a manual technique targeting the fascia, the connective tissue around muscles and joints. This therapy uses gentle, sustained pressure to release tightness in the fascia, which can become restricted due to stress, injury, or trauma.
The Fascia is the suspension system of the body, a connective tissue that is the communication network for feeling in the body. It can store emotional and physical memories for survival reasons. Unwinding the fascia can sometimes bring up the sensations and feelings when we are working on areas from previous injuries or traumas.
It can also be a very relaxing meditive sensation when unwinding.
Myofascial cupping therapy is a soft tissue and fascia treatment technique that uses suction cups placed on the skin to create a vacuum, which lifts and separates underlying tissues like fascia and muscles, helping to release tension and improve blood flow to the area.
When working with the fascia, the connective tissue in the body that stores memory, feelings and past sensations can arise. As a trauma trained therapist I have the skills to hold a space for you to process these memories or sensations if the do. MF cupping can also be used for lymphatic drainage and treat scars on the body.
Cupping can leave marks on body that range from light pink to dark purple, these are not bruising but stagnant blood and lymph that has been drawn to the area, it is broken down naturally.
MF Cupping Therapy
Somatic Massage
A unique massage that integrates my skills as a Holistic massage therapist and Somatic Trauma therapist. we try to switch on instead of off as you would in a traditional massage, and work on your relationship to self and your body. Communication is kept open and we discuss what comes up. It can range from gentle - firm placement of hands on a fully clothed body, to deep tissue massage with MF release and cupping. A chance to listen to the body’s needs and rebuild what you maybe have had to switch off or numb for survival. My TT means I provide a trauma supportive space for anything that comes up. We aim to finish the stress cycle the body has been holding onto sometimes from early life and before.
Your body in incredibly intelligent, listen to it. You are here on my page for a reason. Taking the first step to come to therapy can be daunting. Please if you have any questions regarding any of my services, or would just like the chance to meet me, take advantage of booking a free online consultation. Let somatic therapy help you like it helped me, thats why I’m here as a Somatic therapist…the work is too powerful to not practice.

Beautiful somatic session held in nature
Somatic workshops are run in person, this way we create community and space to share and learn along side each other. They are designed to run as a course. You must have attended the Intro to Somatics week 1 to attend weeks 2/3/4. My immersive workshops, weeks 2/3/4, are no more than 6 people and designed to delve a bit deeper into what it means to Live Somatically. I strive to hold a supportive, inclusive and nurturing space when hosting these workshops an expect atendees to extend this to each other. The 4 weeks run once a month, this is to give attendees time to process and integrate what they have learned into their life.
Living somatically means living in a way that's centered on your body and the connection between your mind, body, each other and nature.
